The rapid migration of families from rural areas surrounding Lima into the city has generated many problems and left thousands of children homeless or neglected and in poor health. But, thanks to our host partners, loving and safe "homes" give vulnerable children in Lima a chance for a fulfilling future and good health. Global Volunteers works in partnership with public and private children's homes to offer compassionate support in a number of ways. Your assistance goes a long way here!
We know that if the worms get the food before the child, it doesn't matter if the food is nutritious. Together we can assure that each child gets the food they need by supplying deworming medicine, health, nutrition and hygiene education, and demonstrating effective hand washing techniques. In addtion, your contribution to the Peru Healthcare Fund may assist in the purchase of soap, first aid kits, HIV AIDS educational materials, nutrional supplements and school and household gardens.
